  1. Cool. I woke up this morning to realize I forgot to turn on my downstairs heat, and even though it is spring now, it is 50 degrees in on my first floor. BRR!! 50 degrees is great when you're outside, hiking in the fall or enjoying an unusualy warm winter day; but, first thing in the morning, when you dragged yourself out of a warm bed, super early so you can study for a test--not so much. During a quick diversion from English Renaissance lit, some coffe and this little video are warming me up while I listen to my old steam heat system whistlle, hiss ,and bang--restoring warmth to my world.

  2. Tracy! Your post is poetry! Thank you for this gift this morning. I, too, am up too early, reading papers and preparing for my long day on campus. I have been reading the NYTimes, the NCTE weekly update, and my poem of the day, drinking two cups of very strong coffee in an attempt to scare all my sleepiness away. At this point in the semester, I always feel like I got hit by a truck. Getting through these next few weeks is really a matter of putting one foot in front of the other, one day at a time. I hoped you've warmed up, Tracy! See you tonight for golden nugget excitement!
